Tech Suit Restriction for 12-and-Under Swimmers The tech suit restrictions, proposed by the Age Group Development Committee, will go into effect for 12-and-under swimmers beginning September 1, 2020. This is a reminder to make sure your qualified athletes apply for the Scholastic All America honor if they are eligible. Athlete must have a 3.5 GPA for 1st semester (we are only evaluating transcripts for 1st semester) and have achieved the qualifying time (2019 Winter Junior National qual time) between August 16, 2019 and August 31, 2020. The Florida Gold Coast has been working with the American Swimming Coaches Association for the past few weeks and have worked out a deal that will let all FGC Coaches (in good standing) attend the ASCA Cyber World Clinic for a fraction of the normal cost. Keeping Athletes First Incentive USA Swimming’s Board of Directors endorsed a new incentive, as part of the Keeping Athletes First Action Plan, to continue to increase the number of clubs to achieve Safe Sport Club Recognition. Once a club achieves Safe Sport Club Recognition, it will be automatically entered into a monthly drawing for the chance to have a National Team member or alum visit your club. Since April, the USA Swimming Safe Sport staff has been hosting weekly Zoom trainings for parents, minor athletes and coaches to assist clubs in completing the Training and Education requirement of the Safe Sport Club Recognition program.
